Indian cricket madness
Cricket is the most popular sport in India even though it sees as the exotic, bizarre relic of British colonial era, occupies a position even more important here than soccer in Europe, or football in the USA. Cricket World Cup is played just like in soccer once every four years and is the third largest sporting event of the world, after the Summer Olympics and the Football championship. In early April of this year 2011, India cricket team won the World title for the second time in history. Cricket is a game for two teams of 11 players, which play a major role shots, runs and shifts. Matches can last several days and because of the complexity of the rules are on the edge of comprehensibility. |
